Disability, Livelihood and Employment: Resources for Disability History Month

Templeman Library Reading List: our DHM 2024 reading list has been created for those who want to feed their literary curiosity and discover new books and resources outside of their academic studies. We hope you enjoy them but if you feel something is missing then let us know and you can help add to this collection.

Many of these resources are available to browse and borrow at Templeman Library  – check out the display in the Library Café, from 15th November.

Free access to Libby e-books & audiobook collection: Further explore the richness of diverse voices with our recently purchased large e-book and audiobook collection – all free for students & staff via the Libby app! So much to discover in our Disability History Month 2024.

Kent Students Union Curiosity Hub

Kent Union are launching a dedicated Disability History Month 2024 web page with plenty of new content and resources made for students, by students! It features reflections from the Officer Team, interviews with Disabled staff and students, a fully-stocked events calendar and the return of the all-too-useful Curiosity Hub!

The DHM Curiosity Hub is designed to display dozens of films, books, podcasts, celebrities and more – all hand-picked by staff and students at Kent, with each recommendation relating to Disability history and pride. There are even hand-out resources as well as links to the various schemes that are available to support Disabled students at Kent.

Have a book or a public figure you’d like to recommend? Want to have your own story on the webpage? Looking to promote your society’s DHM event? Get in touch with us.
