Join us on the 22nd July for a free drop-in workshop at the Great North Museum: Hancock.
Learn more about fifth century treasure hoards, the objects they contain and how archaeologists investigate, analyse and interpret them. We will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and discuss what late Roman hoards can tell us about everyday life, shifting economic networks and expressions of status.
The workshop includes several interactive activities including the chance to handle objects, identify coins and build your own late Roman hoard! It will also take place in the Exhibition Space where an exhibition about Treasure is currently on display.
There is no need to book a place and the workshop is open to all – we look forward to seeing you there!
