Should you need to claim expenses for a hotel booking it has been recognised that the cost of hotel rooms is currently higher than before the pandemic.
We therefore acknowledge that the rate per night may exceed the rates quoted in the Employee Personal Expenditure Policy and as long as the cost is reasonable and has been approved prior to the booking being made any claims will still be processed for reimbursement.
Please ensure you attach confirmation of the approval for this and a justification for exceeding the limits to your claim.
This is only a temporary measure whilst rates are still higher than usual.
Hotel bookings should in the first instance still continue to be booked through the university’s travel provider Key Travel rather than claimed back on expenses unless absolutely necessary.
