Payments Office – Staff Update

The Payments Office have recently undergone a period of change and we wish to update all of the roles within the Office and who the first point of contact should be:

Payments Office Manager – Emma Rowland

Responsible for any projects relating to the Payments Office and implementation of new processes and systems.  Whilst not involved in the day to day running of the office Emma can be contacted in the absence of the Payments Office Supervisor for any urgent queries

Payments Office Supervisor – Laura Grout

Laura is responsible for the overall running of the Payments Office on a day to day basis.  She organises and submits the various Payment Runs to the appropriate channels; for example the BACS Run and Scholarship Payments.   She also manages the Supplier Master File.

Senior Accounts Clerk – Nicola Bushell

Nicola manages the General, US Dollar and Euro Bank Accounts and the posting of all transactions that both debit and credit these bank accounts.  Examples of which would be the Kent Hospitality Banking along with Credit Card and Foreign Payment Uploads into UBW on a monthly basis.  If you are expecting funds to be paid to the University of Kent that do not relate to the payment of UoK invoices, Nicola Bushell should be informed.

Accounts Clerk – Samantha Thomas

Samantha processes all of the Foreign Payments via both Western Union and Bankline.  In addition she processes the Non-Purchase Order Invoices.

Accounts Clerk – Abbey Hopkins

Abbey is the point of contact within the Payments Office for all queries relating to Expenses, both via Staff Connect and paper-based claims.  She also issues Travel Advances along with reconciling these when the traveller has returned.

Accounts Clerk – Deana Coe

Deana is a new addition to the Payments Office Team and she has taken on the duty of processing all Purchase Order Invoices.

We would like to request that documentation is sent still to the Payments Office email address (paymentsoffice@kent.ac.uk) but in the event of a query, you first try to make contact with the appropriate individual who will happily assist you.
