Finance Structure

Overview

The Finance Directorate’s new structure took effect from early August and we are now recruiting to fill in some gaps in staffing.  Once completed this will realise the plan to have the Division focussed around 3 areas of work:

  • Procurement;
  • Financial Planning and Strategy; and
  • Operations (which includes Student Finances, Financial Payroll and Pensions, Finance Systems, Insurance and Payments).

Key Changes

As part of the restructure we have welcomed the Research and Innovation Finance team into our Directorate and are currently looking to recruit a Grade 8 supervisor to provide leadership.  We have also refocused our Budgeting and Planning team to enable Business Partner support to Professional Service Departments and to provide increased range and availability of training to devolved finance staff across the University as well as enhancing our ability to engage with and provide financial modelling for key projects.

Structure

Our teams are now structured as follows:

Procurement: Led by Mark Reed

Financial Planning and Strategy: led by Melanie Nye, with sub sections of:

  • Management Accounting
  • Financial Strategy & Budgeting

Finance Operations: lead to be appointed, with sub sections of:

  • Payroll and Pensions
  • Insurance
  • Payments Office
  • Finance Systems (UBW)
  • Financial Accounting, including Research & Innovation Services
  • Student Financial Services (Income Office, eCommerce, Financial Aid, Scholarships & Foreign Loans and Tuition Fee Services)
