G 14990 Recto

G 14990 recto: Dimensions: 16 x 5.9 cm. Date: mid- to late II century BC (120/119?). Provenance unknown (Hermopolite nome?). Official correspondence between bureaucrats of the Ptolemaic administration concerning farmers and land, probably royal land and perhaps also other types of land such as land granted in gift by the king. The division of the text into three parts by two wide, blank spaces seems to suggest that three different officials were involved and that the original matter was passed on by the first recipient to a colleague, who again transmitted it to a third official, or at least that they informed each other in a chain. The papyrus was published by C. A. La’da as CPR XXVIII 13.
