Coursework Extensions and Mitigations

• If a student is having difficulties and requiring extensions for coursework or mitigation, please ask the student to email lssjsupport@kent.ac.uk for support and advice. In some cases, we may be able to grant coursework extensions if a student is struggling to meet a deadline due to extenuating circumstances.
• We can also make sure a student’s personal circumstances are considered at the Board of Examiners by advising them to formally apply for mitigation.

Appeals

• Students can find information on academic appeals, including guidance and the online appeal form here.
• Students can get advice and support with appeals from the Kent Union Advice Centre.
  • They can help students write and structure an appeal
  • They can also advise on how to best present a student’s case to the appeal board.

Complaints

• Students can submit a complaint about the University through the Student Conduct and Complaints Office.
