Core Criminology Modules

These modules are compulsory across all Criminology programmes.

However, each criminology programme adds another unique set of compulsory modules (see the next section).

Build Your Programme!

Full-time students have to take modules amounting to a total of 120 (Level 4) credits – 60 credits in Autumn & 60 credits in Spring. Students are to build their own criminology course along the subject requirements for each programme. These are listed in the LSSJ Module Handbook which indicates per programme the modules that are …

  • Compulsory or ‘mandatory‘ modules:   You have to take these.
  • Recommended modules or ‘optional’ modules:   These are modules delivered by the school (no timetable clashes between modules are garantueed).
  • Elective or ‘wild‘ modules:   They are modules organised by other schools (timetable clashes between modules are NOT garantueed).
