Dr Oliver’s Award of International Collaboration

Dr David Oliver, Honorary Reader at the Centre for Professional Practice and the Tizard Centre, was awarded the Certificate of Merit for his work in International Collaboration with the Medical Faculty in Croatia. David was given the award on 17th December 2013, at the Medical Faculty ceremony by Professor Davor Jezek – the Sub Dean for the English Curriculum Medical Course and the Dean, Professor Davor Milicic.   Professor Jezek spoke of David’s significant contribution in supporting and leading the course, which is well attended and highly valued by students.

David spoke of the award: “I feel very privileged to be involved in the course at Zagreb. It was wonderful to receive this award and to feel that this international collaboration with the University has been appreciated and recognised.”

David has been involved in the education on palliative care in Croatia since 2000 and was elected an Honorary Professor in 2002 at the University of Zagreb. For the previous six years David has been the convenor and main speaker on the Elective Course of palliative care, for the students on the English curriculum course at the Medical Faculty at the University of Zagreb.
