Congratulations to Dave Coccoza (Final Year Film BA) and Miguel Santos (1st year Drama and English & American Literature) who both won awards at the Employability Rewards Evening on Tuesday 31st May.

Winner: Dave Cocozza
This student, from the School of Arts, has managed to acquire an impressive 1,835 points whilst at the University of Kent. During his journey, this student was the Mature Students Officer for Kent Union, and is an active member of various student societies.
This student’s dedication to extra-curricular activities is most evidently demonstrated with student media, where he has been an Editor, Camera Operator and Host on KTV – the student union’s television channel. He has also been a regular host on Canterbury Student Radio, as well as the Competitions Coordinator and a co-host of the Woody’s Pub Quiz. This overall dedication to student media was demonstrated by an 8-hour live stream, raising money for SNAAP, a local children’s charity.
To add, this student has achieved Kent Union’s Gold Plus Award for volunteering, as well as completing the Careers Award on Moodle.
Lastly, this student is the National Spokesperson for Higher and Further Education for the Green Party and has most recently been elected as Kent Union’s Vice President for Education.

In the short time since this student started at the University of Kent in September 2015, he has earned an impressive 880 points.
This student immersed himself wholeheartedly into University life right from the beginning of his time at Kent, attending a huge variety of events and workshops during Employability Festival.
Since then, this student has continued to improve his academic and employability skills by attending courses through Kent Extra, and the Student Learning and Advisory Service, as well as undertaking various Kent Union Stand Out training courses.
As well as this, he has undertaken a huge amount of volunteering activities, including assisting with the creation of a funding bid for an all-weather sports pitch for the John Graham Trust for adults with learning difficulties. He has also volunteered for Care4Humanity, sorting donations for refugees in Calais and Greece as well as acting as a marshal for the Canterbury Sport Relief Mile.
