Conservation
The Library subscribes to a number of specialist databases that are of particular relevance to Conservation including traditional academic resources such as books and journals and also primary data sources.
Journal articles and books
The best place to start searching for books or journal articles is LibrarySearch.. For more detailed research consider looking at the following resources:
- BioOne a database of biological, ecological and environmental journals.
- GreenFile a journal database covering all aspects of human impact on the environment
- National Geographic Magazine Archive articles from 1888-1994
- Nature access to the weekly journal Nature
- ScienceDirect access to around 1,500 journals
- Wildlife and Ecology Studies Worldwide – access to over 2.5 million records, dating back to 1982
General databases such as Scopus and Web of Science are also useful places to search as well as Google Scholar.
Specialist Resources
As well as book and journal articles you also have access to resources providing more specialist subject information. The following is of particular relevance:
- All the World’s Primates a database of all types of primates
- ENDS Reports searchable service for environmental issues includes news, official reports, policy and legislation
