LGBTQ+ 2024: under the scope

Hand reaching out for 'rainbow' book

To celebrate 2024’s LGBTQ+ History Month the Templeman Library has been working with colleagues from Kent Union and Student Support & Wellbeing to bring together relevant resources and engaging events.

This years’ theme is ‘under the scope’ and celebrates LGBTQ+ peoples’ contribution to medicine and healthcare and their experiences of accessing and using medical and healthcare services. At a time when the LGBT+ community is experiencing a rise in hate crime and hate instances we also encourage you to look ‘Under the Scope’ and listen to LGBT+ peoples’ lived experiences from LGBT+ people.

We have a resource list of books, e-books, films, podcasts and events that will interest all those who want to feed their literary curiosity and for students to discover resources outside of their academic studies. Many of the suggestions have been sourced via Helen Bintley Senior Lecturer with Kent Medway Medical School (KKMS).

Browse and borrow LGBTQ+ titles from our books displays in the Welcome Hall and Library Café and Love to Read Collection.
