IT Development teams meet the monster bike

We went for a team-building ride on a monster seven seater bicycle around the University of Kent Campus today with Dr. Bike. seven seater bike 2 Starting out at the Gulbenkian Cafe, we rode past the Templeman Library and to the Campus Shop at lunchtime.

The bike has seven seats, ten pedals, three wheels and a central steering wheel. The turning circle is very tight, so our ‘spin round’ campus was very exciting!

The pedal power was provided by Peter Frost, Mark Fendley, Alex Andrews, Bonnie Ferguson and Dr. Bike himself.

The monster bike was provided by Dr. Bike, as part of a scheme to encourage cycling at the University of Kent. They provide free bicycle checks and bike services for all students and staff to ensure they are in good working order.

The University also encourage cycling in a number of ways as part of its Travel plan. They provide, for example, a cycle to work scheme and discounts at local bike shops.

We can certainly recommend having a ride on a monster bike if you get the chance – it was great fun!
