For the 6th year in a row, over 100 students from the School of Computing have secured an industrial placement for 2018/19.
The School’s impressive record in helping to secure placements for its students is due to the support that undergraduate and Master’s students receive from the dedicated placement team.
Industrial placement officers, Sian Robson and Katie Van Sanden, exclusively help computing students to get the right job. They help students to identify suitable opportunities, make applications and prepare for interviews, secure a placement, and monitor and support them during their placement.
“It’s fantastic that companies are increasingly seeing the benefit of the Year in Industry, and that School of Computing students are continuing to make the most of these amazing opportunities around the world!”
“Once again, our students will be working in a variety of sectors from small start-ups to big tech giants, from charities to global investment banking, from engineering to entertainment, from consultancy to gaming and everything in between. We also have 14 students working internationally in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Hong Kong and California! It’s going to be another life-changing year for our students, and a busy one for us!”
All undergraduate and most Master’s students in the School of Computing have the option of adding an industrial placement to their degree programme and many placement students go on to start their graduate careers at their placement organisation.
