Kent technical professionals collaborate and share expertise at regional symposium

30th June 2026

Twenty technical professionals from the University of Kent came together with technical professionals from across the Kent Technician Network (KTN) at the annual KTN Symposium, hosted by the University of Greenwich at its Medway campus. The Kent Technician Network brings together technical professionals from Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent.

The programme celebrated the contribution of technical professionals and offered practical opportunities for learning and connection. Peter Griffiths opened the day by welcoming attendees and recognising the value of their work. Sessions covered career development and assertiveness with HEaTED (Higher Education and Technician Educational Development), influencing without authority with UK ITSS, and talks on T Levels and LEAF. Campus tours and networking gave attendees further opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences.

Kent Technical Professionals Tracey Davies, Senior Technical Services Manager, and Luke Alesbrook, Senior Technical Specialist, shared Kent’s approach to hosting T Level students, along with their individual experiences of supporting them.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the symposium possible, including organisers Sam Ingram and Laura O’Gallagher, and the University of Greenwich for hosting the event at its Medway campus.
