Mark Vogle, an Engineering Technician from the CEMS Division, was nominated for an Above and Beyond Award.
Mark was nominated for the category of ‘Excellent Personal Tutoring’ by going the ‘extra mile’ to ensure that students he has worked with were supported. I asked Mark to tell me a little more about the awards and his nomination. This is what he had to say:
“When I received the nomination I was honestly shocked but pleasantly surprised. What a great feeling to be recognised for the work I do and support I give. Personally I take time to talk to the students and encourage them to use our excellent mechanical facility to the full and to experience a range of different manufacturing techniques. The Awards evening was at the venue on campus. It was a great evening with many people in attendance. The hosts were fantastic especially the President and Vice president when parts of the presentation had a few small ‘blips’ (Dropping paper scripts) which made the evening entertaining. Being recognised in this way has made me very proud. I will continue to be myself because I am obviously doing something good. I will continue to support and encourage all the students in the same personable manner so that they gain more skills in a safe but enjoyable area.”
Congratulations for the nomination Mark! Well done!
