TASO award to fund Diversity Mark evaluation

TASO Diversity Mark Evaluation

As part of the increasing success of the Reading List Diversity Mark Project, Professor Kathleen M. Quinlan from the Centre of the Study for Higher Education (CSHE) with Dr Barbara Adewumi and Dr Ellen Dowie from Student Success, have been awarded £60,000 from the Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes (TASO).

Lead by Professor Quinlan, the team will evaluate the impact of the Diversity Mark initiative in SSPSSR (Diversity Mark project) on the degree-awarding gap between white and Black, Asian and minority ethnic students. This research is also intended to illuminate the mechanisms through which curricular diversification reduces the degree-awarding gap, and suggest areas for further development of curricula and the Diversity Mark project.

This collaborative project with staff and students demonstrates the continued commitment in SSPSSR to achieving diversity and equity within the curricula.
