Start the new year with the library tools you need to succeed in assignments.

Meet your subject librarians, discover library resources for your assignments, and improve your research in our new year, new study skills series of events this January. 

Meet your Subject Librarians 

When: Monday 12th, Wednesday 14th, Thursday 15th January 11:00 – 13:00 

Where: Templeman Library Cafe 

Booking: No need to book, just turn up! 

Did you know you have your very own Subject Librarian? This is an informal chance to say hello and discover how your Subject Librarian can support you throughout your studies. Whether you need help finding resources, managing research, or just want to know what’s available, we’re here to help.

When: Monday 26th January 11:00 – 12:00

The session includes: 

  • How to borrow and reserve books for your modules
  • How to access digital resources, journals, and articles
  • Where to find subject specific resources and support
  • Discover events, workshops, and library activities throughout the year 

This session is aimed at all new students as well as all returning students looking to learn more about the resources and services available to them in the library.  

 

Journal articles made easy: a guide to smarter searching for your assignments 

When: Wednesday 28th January 11:00 – 12:00 

Where: MS Teams

The session includes: 

  • How to create a successful search strategy using AI 
  • How to browse online journals
  • How to find specific journal articles for your topic 

This session is aimed at students at all levels looking to learn more library journals and articles. 

 

AI essentials for your assignments 

When: Friday 20th January 11:00 – 12:00 

Where: MS Teams 

Booking: Book your place here 

The session includes: 

  • How to create a successful search strategy using AI 
  • How to find high quality credible journal articles and resources using Scopus AI
  • How to deal with hallucinations and misinformaton
  • How to develop a critical approach to using AI

This session is aimed at students at all levels looking to learn more library journals and articles.
