Kent offers charities free learning resources in lockdown

Kent’s Centre for Philanthropy is providing charity sector professionals with free online educational resources to support them with ideas and perspective during the difficult COVID-19 lockdown period.

With many charities facing major financial challenges while also experiencing a growing demand for their services, the Centre for Philanthropy is offering a free one day online version of its successful Masters programme in Philanthropic Studies to help professionals better understand and encourage different innovations of philanthropy.

The MA in a Day covers topics such as ‘Fundamentals of Philanthropy’, ‘Volunteering and Society’ and ‘Major Donor Fundraising’, offering a short lecture and a handful of readings and useful resources. Regular Friday webchats are also being held to enable colleagues to discuss the material with academic staff and guest experts from the philanthropy sector.

Dr Beth Breeze, Director of the Centre for Philanthropy, said: ‘In these most unusual and challenging times we are keen to use our resources to help the charity sector in any way we can.’
