Rosie’s impact in South Australia

In January 2018 the Government of South Australia purchased licences to use the International Centre for Child Protection’s thirteen scene Rosie 2 simulation to train staff.  This was in response to the 2016 Nyland Royal Commission which recommended better staff training, supervision and support in risk assessment and safety planning of abuse notifications.

The success of the use of ‘Rosie 2’ for assessing parental capacity and neglect in complex families in Australia has recently been reported in a number of newspapers in the Australian media . Dr Shepard Masocha from the University of South Australia and Professor Jane Reeves from the University of Kent will soon evaluate the use of the program in South Australia.
