Student Hayley Mulenda is a UK Rare Rising Star

Hayley Mulenda, a Sociology and Social Policy student, was named as one of the UK’s top ten black rising stars at The Rare Rising Stars 2019 awards ceremony.

The Rare Rising Stars is an annual awards ceremony, organised by graduate recruitment firm Rare. It celebrates the top ten black African and Caribbean university students in the UK and aims to share positive stories and inspire the next generation by providing them with access to role models.

The Top Ten Rising Stars 2019 were selected by judges Kem Ihenacho, Sophie Chandauka, Tia Counts, Tom Chigbo, and Trevor Phillips OBE. The stars were marked against the following categories: determination, depth of achievement, breadth of talent, initiative and leadership and selected from a shortlist of high achievers.

Hayley is the author of The ABCs To Student Success, which was inspired by her own experiences in both secondary school and higher education, and works tirelessly to raise mental health awareness.
