Staff celebrated for research excellence

The fourth annual Research Prizes event took place on 27 April, with 10 awards handed out to staff in recognition of their accomplishments.  Three of the recipients were from the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research.

The University Prize for Advanced Research was awarded to Professor Peter Taylor-Gooby in recognition of outstanding achievements in the field of social policy, together with an exemplary record of academic accomplishment and policy impact.

Faculty prizes were awarded to Professor Sarah Vickerstaff for developing the research field of paid work and retirement in later life, and Professor Stephen Peckham, Centre for Health Services Studies, for work in primary care and public health research, policy analysis, health and social care research impact and substantial leadership skills.
