Friday 7 July 14.30 – Emotional States: politics, governance and affect – Book launch and seminar

This event marks the publication of a new edited collection ‘Emotional States: sites and spaces of affective governance’ (Routledge, 2017, eds, Jupp, Pykett and Smith).  The book examines the allure, value and currency of emotions within political discourse, governance and the development and implementation of social policy.  The launch and seminar will develop these themes, particularly within the context of contemporary politics.  Speakers will include: Dr Eleanor Jupp (University of Kent); Dr Carolyn Pedwell (University of Kent); Dr Jessica Pykett (University of Birmingham); Dr Fiona Smith (University of Dundee); Dr Jo Warner (University of Kent)

Venue:- Cornwallis East Seminar room 2 (ollowed by drinks in the Cornwallis East third floor common room).
