2016 Postgraduate Festival on the theme ‘Understanding and Influencing Society’

The 6th Annual Postgraduate Festival on the theme ‘Understanding and Influencing Society’  is an event open to all postgraduate students, Taught Masters and Research, as well as academic staff.

The Festival is a great opportunity for postgraduates, including a number from the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research, to showcase their research to fellow students and staff through academic posters, models or displays and presentations.

Highlights of the 2016 festival include:-

•Academic question time with a panel including Dr Ellie Lee (Reader in Social Policy)

•Keynote address by Ulrike Hotopp, Chief Economist Simetrica

•Kent 3MT® competition final

•Postgraduate research presentations including Clare Melvin on ‘Treatment Effectiveness for Offenders with Autism Spectrum Conditions: A Systematic Review’, Melina Malli on
“I’m not being rude, I’d want somebody normal”: Adolescents’ perception of their peers with Tourette’s syndrome: an exploratory study’ and Mark Brown “I wish had learnt to keep myself safe”.

•Postgraduate displays and posters

The festival is in the Wolff Building on Friday 20th May 2016 from 09.30 to 18.00.
