Scholarship and Internship for Applied Health Research MSc

Application deadlines are approaching for a scholarship and an internship on the Applied Health Research MSc (information about the programme can be viewed on the MSc Applied Health Research [13] webpage).

a)The Applied Health Research Scholarship will cover the home/EU rate of tuition for the programme (£5430) and can be held in addition to any other Kent scholarships such as the Graduate School Scholarship and the 10% loyalty discount for Kent graduates.

If you are interested in the scholarship you need to complete the following actions by midnight on Friday 17th June 2016:-

  1. Apply for a place [6] on the MSc Applied Health Research and ensure your references and transcripts are submitted through the university’s online system by the deadline of 23.59 Friday 17 June 2016.
  2. Submit to Dr Kate Hamilton-Wes [7]t a 600 word application outlining your interest, your experience to date and why you would be the most suitable recipient of the Applied Health Research Scholarship. Your application should include your name, and the title of the scholarship and should show awareness of the context of health research. The deadline for applications is 23.59 Friday 17 June 2016.

b)The internship opportunity is with Clinical Outcomes Solutions (COS) which is based in Folkestone. COS is a health outcomes company committed to continuous, dedicated support across all facets of clinical outcomes research to assist with value driven decisions for informing patient care. With a specific focus on Clinical Outcomes Assessments (COAs), COS specialises in measuring and understanding Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs), Clinician Reported Outcomes (CROs), Observer Outcomes (e.g., Parent, Teacher, or Guardian), and Screening Tools in the context of specific clinical conditions.

This internship opportunity will allow the successful applicant to work directly with the COS research team on qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods COA studies to better understand humanistic clinical benefit within the context of observational or clinical studies.

The internship may be undertaken on a full time (after successfully completing the MSc), or part-time (during the second year of a part time MSc) basis, over a period of 6-12 months. The internship attracts a stipend of £18,000-£22,000 (full time equivalent).

Your application should include your name, and the title of the internship and should show awareness of the internship provider, Clinical Outcomes Solutions Ltd. The deadline for applications is 23.59 Friday 17 June 2016.

Shortlisting for both the scholarship and the internship will take place on Wednesday 29 June 2016 and we hope to notify those invited to interview on the same day. Interviews will be held at our Canterbury campus Wednesday 6 July 2016.
