Following the successful conference, ‘Policing Pregnancy’ held at the Royal College of Physicians in London, the Centre for Parenting Culture Studies (CPCS) has published an online article outlining the issues.
Organised by CPCS, the Pregnancy Advisory Service and Birthrights, the one-day conference sought to understand and question the current culture of censoring actions and decisions of pregnant women.
The article, ‘Rules about how to behave in pregnancy’, can be read here.
SSPSSR’s Centre for Parenting Culture Studies researches how the role and meaning of parenting has changed over time and how social policies impact on the nature and reality of child-rearing and parent choice. Read more about CPCS research and activity on the centre’s blog.
