SSPSSR awards 31 places on University’s VALUE Programme

Our School has contributed to a record number of places for Stage 1 students on the 2014/15 VALUE programme.

The VALUE programme is an initiative designed to help Stage 1 students make the best of their time at university by improving their key skills. Run by the Student Learning Advisory Service (SLAS) at both the Canterbury and Medway campuses, successful applicants develop their academic knowledge and understanding, key skills and learning strategies through a variety of activities ranging from working in small groups to creative and interactive team exercises.

Head of School, Professor Sarah Vickerstaff says of the programme, “VALUE is extremely useful in helping students improve their study skills and exam technique; it provides an opportunity to share ideas and practice different ways of doing things. I am so pleased that 31 of our students will be able to benefit from the programme’s additional support this year.”

VALUE is an annual programme for Stage 1 students and is now closed for applications, for more information please visit the University’s Learning webpages. Other programmes run by SLAS include VALUE Plus for Stage 2 and Stage 3 Students and VALUE Grad for taught Master’s students.
