Help document philanthropy at Kent

Bench with plaque

The Centre for Philanthropy, based in the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research, is researching the history of donations to our University since it was founded in 1965.

Some are recorded in official documents, but many are not.  Centre researchers would like to hear from you if you know of any donations of money, equipment, trees, benches, art, books etc. or of any philanthropic acts such as work with charities.  The results will be published in a book to be launched at an event on ‘Understanding Philanthropy’ in June 2015.

Please contact Dr Triona Fitton (T.Fitton@kent.ac.uk) with any suggestions, examples, stories and accounts of gifts, volunteering or donations, no matter how small, that deserve a place in the history of philanthropy at the University of Kent.
