SSPSSR Employability Month concludes

The SSPSSR employability month has now concluded so thanks very much for everyone’s help, support and input, it is all very much appreciated!

Alumni and students alike attended these events where special guest speakers, which also included an alumni from the Metropolitan Police and Alaina Tolhurst, an alumni working for the Youth Justice Board, were invited to give students an insight into their relevant career paths and to share personal experiences.

The aim of the event was to give students a clearer idea of the career paths open to them upon graduation with their SSPSSR degree, and how they can start to prepare for their careers now.

The conferences were divided into four sectors, Criminology/Criminal Justice (Medway), Social Policy/EU Careers/Government, Human Rights/Health & Social Care and Criminology/Criminal Justice (Canterbury

Guest speakers included representatives from: Ministry of Justice, Medway Youth Offending Team, Metropolitan Police, Kent Probation, EU Careers, Foreign Commonwealth Office, National Centre for Social Research, UK Border Force, Save the Children, East Kent Housing, Royal United Services Institute and Kent Police.
