‘Memory Matters: African diaspora heritage’ event on 20 July

Conference exploring connections, and disconnections, in African diaspora heritage

Dr David Garbin, Lecturer in Sociology at Kent is co-organising a symposium on 20 July at the University of East London.

The conference will introduce the project: ‘Memory Matters: African diaspora heritage’ and critically explore the historical, cultural and postcolonial connections and disconnections between the UK, the Congo and beyond. Speakers will include Congolese community and youth activists, academics, artists and project members and volunteers.

The event is on Saturday 20 July 2013, 12pm-5pm, at the University of East London (East Building, Docklands Campus, London E16 2RD). Find out more here.
