SuperVisions initiative helps graduate students

Navigating supervisory relationships successfully

The experience of navigating supervisory relationships is one thing research students from across the university have in common. But while supervision is the topic of informal gossip, an aura of privacy can make it difficult for students to learn from each others’ experiences.

A new initiative is seeking to address this by opening up interdisciplinary conversations on this sensitive subject, beginning with a session led by and for postgraduates taking place next month. This work is funded by the AHRC student-led skills development stream, supported by the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and the Kent Graduate Student Association.
