Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

SSPSSR is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral research fellow in one of the School’s key areas of research to engage in and contribute to the School’s research programme and further strengthen the School’s research profile for the REF 2014.

We are looking to appoint a candidate with an established record of excellence in research as demonstrated by high-profile publications in peer-reviewed journals (commensurate with the time since they were awarded their Ph.D).

As a post-doctoral research fellow, the successful candidate will be expected to work independently in one of the areas of the School’s research clusters or any of the academic members’ focal research interests, while at the same time making a significant contribution to the School’s research activities in terms of producing research outputs (e.g., journal publications) and research grant applications.

Although the post will primarily be a research position, the successful candidate may be required to contribute to the School’s teaching programmes, including possible involvement in the supervision of research students (PGR) and/or UG and PGT students’ research dissertations.

The post is available from 1 September 2012 or earlier by agreement

Closing date for applications: 25 May 2012

Interviews are expected to be held on: 15 June 2012
