Arts and Humanities Heroes 2021

In a year quite unlike any other, we wanted to acknowledge how fantastically resilient our students have all been throughout an extremely difficult time.

To recognise this strength our students have all shown, our Student Experience team asked Arts and Humanities students to nominate their ‘hero’.  They were thrilled to receive so many positive and inspiring nominations – we hope these bring you a little piece of joy and a reminder that hope can always be found, even in the toughest times.

Stephanie Painter

BA Religious Studies

Nominated by Amy Foad

“This person is my best friend. She has supported me through the toughest moments of uni, and also the best. She’s been my constant rock through problems in my personal life, such as issues with my mental health, and is always there to listen. She struggles herself with mental health but takes everyone’s burdens and worries about others before herself. She is a huge support to her family, and without her, a lot of people would fall apart – I know I would. She deserves this award because she deserves to know how truly important she is to so many people, including myself.”
