New Religious Studies student-staff podcast launch

Dr Chris Deacy and Nicole Graham host the first episode of the new podcast with guests, Jack Saxelby-Smith and Stephanie Painter.

The new podcast is a joint staff and student podcast discussing experiences with Religious Studies at the University of Kent in Canterbury. Guests talk about what draws them to Kent specifically as well as their favourite modules, topics and debates in the field of religion.

In the first episode, host lecturer, Chris Deacy, talks with Nicole Graham, a former student turned PhD holder and lecturer at Kent, as well as Jack Saxelby-Smith and Stephanie Painter who are both set to graduate this year with a BA in Religious Studies. They discuss what pulled them to the University of Kent, the wide range of things they have studied and what surprised them most about their degree programmes – covering topics from Eastern Spirituality to Happy Feet!

Speaking about the new podcast, Chris Deacy says: “We are hoping that the podcast will be useful for tomorrow’s students – those people who are presently wondering what to study and where to study their chosen course. We hope that it comes across that there is a good rapport between staff and students in the department and that Kent is a good place to develop both personally and academically.”
