Head of Department, Dr Chris Deacy, interviews Head of School of Arts, Dr Tamar Jeffers McDonald in the latest Nostalgia Interviews podcast episode.

Chris writes, “Doris Day is the main topic of conversation in my latest Nostalgia Interview. My fantastic guest is Tamar Jeffers McDonald from the University of Kent’s School of Arts, who has written ‘Doris Day Confidential’, a copy of which she left for Day in Carmel, California. She also owns a broach that Day wore to the 1960 Golden Globes. We talk about ‘Pillow Talk’, virginity, gaslighting, Marlon Brando, Day’s political views (which are very different from that of Tamar’s), classic movie magazines, why Tamar walked out of ‘Life is Beautiful’, having a log of every film she has seen since 1998, and why she is a future looking person.”
