Dr Lauren Ware, lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, will be joining fellow philosophers based in New York City for “Ask a Philosopher – LIVE” on Saturday 18 April 2020 at 17.00 (BST).

Brooklyn Public Philosophers is a forum for philosophers in the greater Brooklyn, NY, area to discuss their work with a general audience, hosted by the Brooklyn Public Library. Its goal is to raise awareness of the best work on philosophical questions of interest, and to provide a civil space to reason together about the philosophical questions that matter.

During non-pandemic times, they host an event on Saturdays called “Ask a Philosopher” – booths set up in popular places like farmers’ markets and in New York’s famous Central Park, where members of the public can ask any question and have a philosophical discussion.

Given the pandemic, the booth has moved online and Lauren will be joining host Ian Olasov (Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Brooklyn College and Medgar Evers College) and Perry Zurn (Assistant Professor of Philosophy, American University) to field questions about philosophy and the pandemic on “Ask a Philosopher – LIVE”. Tune in on Saturday to share your philosophical questions and ideas.
