In the latest episode of the Nostalgia podcast series, Chris Deacy, Reader in Theology and Religious Studies, interviews stand up comedian Andy White.

In this interview, Andy and Chris start by talking about his victory on ‘The Weakest Link’ in 2002 and how the prize enabled Andy to pay for his wedding. Andy goes on to talk about his work with the National Autistic Society, dropping Town Planning for English at university where he rattled tins for Rag and protested against the BNP, how he got into stand up, how petrified he was at his first gig, deconstructing a stand up gig, the so-called ’11 o’clock rule’, his first record, who he has seen on stage, and how Andy reflects on past bad mistakes.
