Academic staff and postgraduates from the Department of Comparative Literature will be hosting a Research Day to showcase their work on Wednesday 6 June 2018.
The day will be structured around three sessions, with presentations including ‘On Tact in Proust’ by Dr Katja Haustein; ‘Resurgences of Antisemitism and the Calumny of Ritual Murder’ by Dr Axel Stähler; ‘Keywords and Debates in Comparative and World Literature’ by Dr Xiaofan Amy Li; ‘Margins, Villas, and Gecekondu’ by PhD student Muradiye Kiyak; ‘What Did Anton Mesmer and the French Royal Commission of 1784 Do For Us?’ by PhD student Lesley Gray; and rounding off with ‘For an Active Philology: Barthes and Nietzsche’ by Professor Shane Weller.
The sessions will be chaired by Dr Anna Katharina Schaffner, Dr Patricia Novillo-Corvalan and Dr Xiaofan Amy Li.
