Modern Languages event to aid language learning

The Department of Modern Languages is organising a language exchange event, open to all students at Kent, to be held on Thursday 8 February 2018 at 7pm.

Have you ever wanted to practice the language you are currently learning with a native speaker? On the other hand, would you like to practice your mother tongue, if you spend most of your time only speaking English? Or maybe you’d like the opportunity to help teach a student a language in which you are already fluent?

If you’ve thought ‘yes’ to any of these questions then the tandem language exchange is for you.

The Tandem Language Exchange provides students at the University of Kent with the opportunity to improve their language skills by bringing together people who speak different languages to share their passion and knowledge in an informal way. The Department of Modern Languages teaches French, German, Spanish, Catalan, and Italian, although the event welcomes speakers/learners of other languages to pair up wherever possible.

Tandem Language Exchange is a great way to meet new people at the University of Kent and improve a language outside of the classroom. After we have paired you up, you will agree the time, place and how often you want to meet. Whatever your language level is, all you need is the enthusiasm to learn and practise a foreign language, and to meet people who come from across the world.
