Dr Alvise Sforza Tarabochia, Lecturer in Italian in the Department of Modern Languages, will be giving a public lecture at the Università Iuav di Venezia, Italy on Thursday 11 January 2018, entitled ‘Images, Psychiatry, Society’.
Alvise will be examining the relationship between photography and psychiatry in Italy, in particular the photo reportages of initiatives that accompanied the reform of psychiatric health care in Italy, and the consequent closure of psychiatric hospitals.
A roundtable, with photographers Guido Guidi and Mariano Andreani, will follow this discussion.
