EBM+ [Evidence-Based Medicine Plus], part of a research project, co-organised by Jon Williamson, Professor of Reasoning, Inference and Scientific Method in the Department of Philosophy, has just published its first video.

In the video, Dr Brendan Clarke (UCL) cusses the limitations of clinical trials and why medicine needs different types of evidence – most importantly, that of mechanisms – in order to better inform medical decisions and clinical care.

EBM+ is a consortium of researchers and health policy experts taking part in a three-year project, ‘Evaluating Evidence in Medicine’. The project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council until May 2018. The Consortium of Members also includes Dr Christian Wallmann and Dr Michael Wilde, also from the Department of Philosophy at Kent.
