The Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies is pleased to announce its new MA programme for the 2016/17 academic year, Rome – Ancient and Modern is now open for applications.

The MA is a unique programme that enables you to engage with the city of Rome as a contemporary city with major archaeological, artistic, and historic significance that underpins its identity as the Eternal City.

Professor Ray Laurence, director of the new MA, described the programme: ‘This new programme creates a synergy between the study of the History of Art, notably Raphael, and the study of Rome in antiquity. This will cause graduates of the programme to move seamlessly between these disciplines and be able to shape research on Rome for future generations in new directions.’

The first term is taught at our Canterbury campus, with its resources in Classical & Archaeological Studies, and the second term is based at the Kent’s Rome centre, at the American University of Rome.
