Walking challenge for Save the Children

Take a step for children

Julia Peters, a PhD student in the Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies, walked for 79 days on the historic route, the Via Francigena, from Canterbury to Rome last year. To mark the anniversary of her achievement she is organising a walking challenge to raise funds for the charity Save the Children on the UK section of the route from Canterbury to Dover.

Staff and students are welcome to join Julia on the 20 mile walk from Canterbury to Dover on 16 April, departing at 8am from the Canterbury Cathedral Gate. Shorter options of 12 or 8 miles are also available.

If you would like to join Julia please register via the website at: http://kentontheviafrancigena.com/via-francigena-fundraiser

The deadline for registering is 1 April 2016.

If you can’t walk but would like to donate you can do so at: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/viafrancigena
