Author Stéphane Furina to visit Kent

Stephane Furina

French author Stéphane Furina is coming to Kent to talk about his new book Pires que les élèves [Worse Than the Students] (North Pole Editions, 2015) on Wednesday 21 October from 3-4pm in Grimond Lecture Theatre 1.

Stéphane Furina is an English teacher at a college in northern France. In his book, using often funny anecdotes and real-life situations, he tells the story of little Victor, a long-suffering student, and his alter-ego, the great Victor, a young teacher in a humorous campaign against ‘bad teachers’. He denounces the abuses committed in the name of corporatism by teachers who abuse their power with impunity. The book has become a big hit in France together with the Pires que les élèves Facebook page.

Students taking modules FR300: Learning French 3, FR589: Learning French 4 and FR591: Learning French 5 have been studying parts of Stéphane’s book and will have the opportunity to ask the author questions.

The lecture is open to all and will be in French. Further details are available here:
