Mark Harrison discussed heritage crime on BBC1

Mark Harrison, Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies, appeared on BBC1’s  Crimewatch Roadshow yesterday, Tuesday 9 June, to talk about heritage crime.

Heritage crime is the theft or damage of protected historic buildings or sites. Mark discussed several examples with presenter Ray Wilding, including theft of metal from church roofs, arson attacks on churches, and thefts from archaeological sites, such as unlawful metal detecting on Hadrian’s Wall.
