As published in The Guardian University Guide 2016 on Monday, the University of Kent is now ranked 16th out of 119 UK universities, its highest league table position to date with a rise of four places.

The Department of Philosophy was within the UK top 20, ranked at 17th in the UK. The subject area scored particularly well for course satisfaction, ranking 4th in the UK.

The Guardian‘s league table ranks higher education institutions in Britain using a complex algorithm that takes in data from a variety of sources, including the National Student Survey, and a set of metrics including staff/student ratios, expenditure, entry scores and career prospects, among others.
