Dr Deborah Holmes from the Department of Modern Languages was commissioned to write a report on the Rauriser Literaturtage [Rauris Literary Days] festival in Rauris, in the Salzberg, Austria, as part of an awarded grant from the festival.

This year’s Rauriser Literaturtage festival took place in March. An important forum for contemporary writing from across the German-speaking world, the festival’s main aim is to promote up-and-coming authors. Many previous Rauris prize-winners, such as Herta Müller, Michael Köhlmeier or Raoul Schrott, have gone on to become big names. The festival was founded in the 1970s, and the themes for this year’s festival were bi- and multilingual authors and translation.

Deborah has now produced the report, and it is available here: https://austrianresearchuk.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/rauris-literaturtage-2015-a-report/
