Professor Ray Laurence from the Department of Classical & Archaeological Studies will appear in the series Rome: The World’s First Superpower, which starts tonight on Channel 5.
The series is presented by actor Larry Lamb, who presents a history of Rome from its very beginning. The series promises to interview experts on Roman history, including Ray as a leading professor of Roman history, and recreate ancient Rome with detailed and colourful CGI.
During the filming, Professor Laurence and Larry Lamb visited a block of flats built in the 1st century AD where they discussed living conditions for migrant families.
The series is to be broadcast at 8pm on Fridays and Ray appears in episode 3 on Friday 07 November. The series will also be available on Demand 5.
