English Language and Linguistics Research Day

Staff and students from the Department of English Language and Linguistics will participate in a dedicated postgraduate research day for the subject, presenting aspects of their work on Friday 20 June, from 10am to 5pm in Grimond Lecture Theatre 2.

The event will include talks from visiting researcher Marzena Zygis, from the Berlin Centre for General Linguistics, on ‘The Interdependence of Voiceless Sounds and Intonation‘, and Christos Pliatsikas, from the School of Psychology, on ‘The Effects of Bilingualism on Grey and White Matter Structure’. To close the event there will be a workshop on the peer-review and publication process led by Professor Amalia Arvaniti, Head of Department.

The event is open to anyone with an interest in the subject.
