The annual conference of the Association for French Language Studies (AFLS) is now open for registration. Organised by Dr David Hornsby and Jonathan Kasstan from the Department of English Language & Linguistics, the event will be held at the Canterbury campus of the University of Kent from Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 June 2014.

The AFLS was founded in 1981 to encourage and promote language teaching activities and research in French language and linguistics as areas worthy of consideration in their own right. The Association acts as a forum for scholarly discussion and for the exchange of information among those interested and engaged in teaching French in higher education.

This year’s conference – the theme for which is entitled ‘Que le français se nomme diversité‘ – boasts a very full and diverse programme. The organisers would like to thank the Linguistics Association of Great Britain, Cambridge University Press, and Oxford University Press for their generous support.
